We’re a charity that since 1988 has guided effective giving to support causes across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and the wider region. We inspire philanthropy, invest in communities and influence change to build a thriving, generous and inclusive North East today and for generations to come.
We are a registered charity and limited company established in 1988. We are governed by a board of trustees made up of leaders from the business, philanthropy, public, and charity sectors – most nominated from among our members. Our team runs the Foundation from our office, Philanthropy House, in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are the largest community foundation by asset size in the UK, and one of around 2,000 across the globe.
